Zeta potential on the surface of a fiber
5.Conclusion
It is said that the surface potential of fibrous materials was first measured in the early 1900's 9). Around 1930, research in this area was quite active, most of which were the flow potential method and the electroosmosis method. The zeta potential measurement method for the fiber surface by electrophoresis was introduced this time, but it is not new in terms of measuring the surface charge of the fiber. However, the method using the Mori-Okamoto's equation by electrophoresis is valuable in that not only the measurement of the surface zeta potential of the fiber but also the zeta potential of the monitored particles to be electrophoresed can be obtained at the same time. In the future, it is highly expected that it will be used for the development of colloidal dispersion such as detergents and fabric softeners for fibers and dyes.
